I built a desk for doing my artwork. It’s adjustable so I can use it as a standing or sitting desk and lay it flat or angled.
I posted process photos on r/DIY here, and actually on Imgur here.
Tools:
DeWalt Circular Saw
DeWalt Jigsaw
Dewalt Battery powered Drill, then switched to Corded Drill for the big holes
DeWalt Random Orbital Sander
Kreg Pocket Jig (the single hole one)
Screwdrivers
Carpenters Square and a ruler
DeWalt and IRWIN clamps
Materials (~$160 I think):
Mostly cut from a single 3/4”x4’x8’ plywood board
Some 3/4”x4”x8’ poplar boards for the French cleat mount
Some Poplar boards for the trim around the desk top
Some other random boards here and there after I ran out of cuts on the plywood
Wood stain and sealer
Lots of Kreg pocket screws and then other random screws
Wood glue
Two 1 inch dowels
Some 1/2inch bolts with washers and nuts
A bit of copper wire
I took design cues from a bunch of different desks I found on Pinterest, but I mainly copied Nathan Frey’s Frey Desk.
I may eventually upload my Blender file if I have time to clean it up/organize and if I remember.
